Blessing in Disguise

A little over a week ago, my wonderful husband called me around 11:30 at night.  He works second shift and was heading home from work.  He told me that he was going to be late because he had just hit a deer.  Now, anyone that knows Tom knows that he loves to tease me.  I think it's his favorite thing to do....well one of his favorite things to do, lol!  I honestly thought he was teasing me.  But then after asking a few times & him continuing to tell me the same thing I realized that it was the truth.  He had actually just hit a deer.

He said that it was really foggy out and that he didn't see it until the very last minute.  I was so worried about him but he reassured me that he wasn't hurt at all.  He said the car looked bad though and that it was probably totaled.  I decided to drive to him so that he didn't have to ride home with the tow truck & really I just wanted to be near my husband.  It was good to see him but the car looked awful.  Here are a couple pictures a few days later, at the car repair business, when we went to remove our belongs because the insurance company has decided that it needs to be totaled...

Now, the title of this post is "Blessing in Disguise" and I totally believe that is what this is.  First, and most importantly, my amazing husband of over 20 years was not hurt at all.  Not even a scratch or a headache....God was watching over him for sure!!!  Second, although the car was totaled and we'll need to get another vehicle, I'm confident that God is going to ensure that our insurance gives us enough money and we find an awesome replacement.  This car was on it's last leg anyway so as long as the insurance comes through we'll be better off.

Finally, this accident has made my husband and I look at each other with different eyes.  We've always been extremely close, more so than most couples we know.  Ask our daughter...she complains we act like teenagers all the time, lol!  But after facing the fact that he realistically could've been seriously hurt or even killed we are appreciating each other even more now.  It feels good!

You never know when your time is up.  You never know what your last word or action towards someone could be.  Don't waste even a minute!!  Be sure to tell the people in your life how much you love and appreciate them.  Please don't wait until it's too late!!!

Bye,
Lisa

What a great way to look at it. You could have been mad about the car or upset but chose to be thankful for the good that came in your relationship. I had a dear hit ME once, SO scary!

I absolutely agree with you! Even if something looks bad, behind there might be a good reason it happened, and many times a blessing. Even if the blessing is not obvious, just know God has a reason for everything. (BTW, thank you so much for your supportive comment on the All*You blog,it means a lot.)
