You might remember my post introducing "My Job Chart" not that long ago. I came across this wonderful online program and wanted to share with all of you. Have any of you taken the time to check it out? I hope you have! You won't be sorry because "My Job Chart" is completely free and an awesome way to teach your children responsibility.
Today, though, I wanted to talk about another idea I had for using "My Job Chart". Obviously, I believe this is an exceptional product for creating chore charts, monitoring your children's progress and rewarding them for completion. Well why not use those same techniques to encourage them to read? My dad was a huge reader throughout my childhood. I picked up that same love of reading and I've passed it on to my daughter as well. Not all kids are prone to love reading though. That doesn't mean it isn't important, or necessary, for them to spend time reading everyday.
My suggestion is to add "Read 15 Minutes" to your child's list of responsibilities within their job chart. They will be encouraged to do it because they want the points to work towards whatever reward they are striving for. I can almost guarantee that within a few days of reading 15 minutes each day they will be hooked on their book and start reading for longer periods of time. Which, after all, is the goal!

Lisa

Snap Sac - Green Christmas Sponsor Spotlight

The Green Christmas Giveaway Hop is coming very soon! I love this hop and the idea behind it. Let's join together and support the "green" side of life!!
Snap Sac is our next sponsor spotlight for this event. Perfect for the modern eco–friendly woman, these bags are fashionable, trendy, and affordable. Snap Sacs are not your average reusable supermarket bags, they are actually cute and versatile. You may want to carry it as a purse, but also would not mind taking it with you for a quick grocery store run.
For my review, I was lucky enough to receive the Super Tote: Neutral and Super Tote: Pop. They are awesome! When they arrived they were folded up in a neat package, that closed with a snap, perfect for stowing in the car or my purse. Once fully opened I was surprised by the size of the bags. They are big! And sturdy too. I believe that they would be completely capable of toting groceries around. The great thing, though, is that these tote bags are so cute that they could be used in a wide variety of ways. I'll probably be using at least one of them as a knitting bag! Here's some pictures..
Be sure to visit Snap Sac as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages! And guess what....for our Green Christmas Giveaway Event Snap Sac is offering the winner your choice of a Super Tote Neutral or Super Tote Pop! Remember to come back starting November 11 for your chance to win!

Swell Cloth is our next sponsor spotlight for this event. Sarah, the shop's owner, is so sweet and helpful. She really loves fabric as much as I do - I love that! You'll find a wide variety of awesome fabric at Swell Cloth, including fat quarters and half yard bundles, as well as patterns, kits and notions.
For my review, I was lucky enough to receive the "Love Ya Gift Kit - with FREE DIY Holiday Wrapping - Choose Any 6 Fat Quarters". Sarah chose 6 awesome fat quarters for me to play with. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to make but I'm thinking maybe a tote bag! Here's a picture..
The neat part about this package, aside from the awesome fabric of course, is the DIY Holiday Wrapping kit. Sarah has included everything necessary to wrap up these fat quarters into a beautiful presentation. What a great gift for a quilter!
Be sure to visit Swell Cloth as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages! Natural House - Green Christmas Sponsor Spotlight

The Green Christmas Giveaway Hop is coming very soon! I love this hop and the idea behind it. Let's join together and support the "green" side of life!!
Natural House is our next sponsor spotlight for this event. Their innovative approach to natural household cleaning products brings you a revolutionary, new method of cleaning the most dirty areas of your home. Utilizing non-toxic, probiotic cleaning agents, Natural House products are strong enough for commercial clean-up, yet safe and gentle for all of the members of your family.
For my review, I was lucky enough to receive a 30 day supply of all three of their cleaners - Flushy, Trashy and Sinky. Flushy Probiotic Cleaning packet is a powerful toilet bowl cleaner + Drain and Septic Treatment in one. The professional strength formula cuts through stains, hard water and calcium deposits in the bowl. The probiotics continue to consume toilet paper and waste build up in the p-trap, drain and pipes, and maintains the health of your septic system. Trashy Probiotic Cleaning removes odors at their source. Use trashy in your indoor or outdoor trash cans to dissolve odors, grease and food scraps. Sinky Probiotic Cleaning packet breaks down grease and food scraps to help prevent clogs and slow drains. Used weekly, Sinky will scour your drain and disposal driving out odors at their source. Here's a picture..
In order to do a fair & honest review, I used the products for two weeks before writing this. I can tell you that I am very impressed by all three of them! They all work exceptionally well & have a pleasant scent to them. I like that they are natural, plant based cleaners but still have the strength of their chemical based competition. I have to admit, though, that Flushy is my favorite! I love how it is packaged, there is a small tablet that you drop into the toilet and wait for it to start foaming. It is very effective and I highly recommend Natural House products to everyone!
Be sure to visit Natural House as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages! And guess what....for our Green Christmas Giveaway Event Natural House is offering the winner a 30 day supply of all three products - Flushy, Sinky and Trashy! Remember to come back starting November 11 for your chance to win!

Eco Lunch Gear - Green Christmas Sponsor Spotlight

The Green Christmas Giveaway Hop is coming very soon! I love this hop and the idea behind it. Let's join together and support the "green" side of life!!
Eco Lunch Gear is our next sponsor spotlight for this event. This fantastic company makes reusable snack bags, sandwich wraps and cloth napkins. But that isn't the end of it....they take being "green" even further by using organic cotton that is completely free of any chemicals. Great for our planet and perfect for this event!
I received both a snack bag and sandwich wrap for review. The sandwich wrap folds around a sandwich and seals with Velcro to keep it fresh. It lays flat to be used as a mat. The snack bag is an envelope with a Velcro closure on the top flap. It is uniquely designed for easy cleanup - the sides open up so there are no trapped crumbs. Both are made of 100% organic cotton with a sturdy nylon liner. Here is a picture...

All About The Buttons - Green Christmas Sponsor Spotlight

The Green Christmas Giveaway Hop is coming very soon! I love this hop and the idea behind it. Let's join together and support the "green" side of life!!
All About The Buttons is our first sponsor spotlight for this event. Her shop is so great and she offers a little bit of everything. What really caught my eye, though, and what I'm dying to tell you about today were her magnetic bookmarks. Have you ever heard of them before? I hadn't!
I love to read but one complaint is how to mark my page. I hate to dog ear the pages because it seems to "tarnish" the book, especially when I'm reading a library book or a friend's book. But traditional bookmarks always fall out and I end up having to guess which page I'm on. Not fun!
All of that has changed now that I've found out about magnetic bookmarks. I received this wonderful bookmark to try out and review. Isn't it pretty....
It is so much more than just pretty though! It's useful too. There are magnets on the top and bottom of the flap so that it fits over your page and holds the bookmark in place. Neat, right? I was even able to hold my book upside down while my husband took a picture....
This is going to be my new "go to" bookmark for sure! Be sure to visit All About the Buttons as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages! And guess what....for our Green Christmas Giveaway Event All About the Buttons is offering the winner their choice of a magnetic bookmark from her shop! Be sure to come back starting November 11 for your chance to win!

NachoMama Tees Review & Giveaway
I'll be completely honest......I love to wear tshirts and sweats! That is my usual "uniform" for the day. It's a good thing I'm home most the time, lol, and my husband thinks I'm beautiful no matter what I'm wearing! Because of that I believe that I could never have enough comfy tshirts.
I recently had the opportunity to review a tshirt from NachoMama Tees and it was so fun picking out the one I wanted. They have a ton of different categories & most tshirts are under $20 and there are even some for as low as $6.99. You'll find "80s tshirts", "Movie tshirts", and "Vintage tshirts" to name a few. I finally narrowed my choice down to a tshirt that says "The Internet is Awesome" because really....it is! :) I decided to get mine in black & it is so soft & comfy! Here it is...
And guess what..... NachoMama Tees is offering a Life Full of Laughter reader a $15.00 gift card to Crazy Dog Tees. This giveaway is not open to anyone that has won something from NachoMama Tees within the last 90 days or anyone that owns/writes a giveaway & review blog. Thank you for understanding! Good luck!

Revolution Worship Live CD Review and Giveaway
I'm sure you've heard me mention that my only child left for college in the fall. She is blessed enough to get to attend Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. It is a fantastic, small Christian college and she is very happy there. One thing that is so special about attending a Christian college is that she gets to go to chapel services three times a week with everyone on the campus. My husband and I have been able to attend some of the services while visiting her and they are wonderful. My favorite part is the music.
When I was given the opportunity to review the Revolution Worship Live CD I jumped at the chance. I figured it would be very similar to the type music they have at Grace College's chapel services. I was right! What an inspiring and uplifting CD this is! I've been listening to it over & over since receiving it for review. The songs are awesome & the fact that it is recorded live just makes it better. I really feel like I'm sitting in the middle of a worship service. I also like how the pastor speaks a few times throughout the CD, not a sermon but just short motivating sentences that really made me think about things.
You can find more information about this awesome collection of music on Facebook & Twitter as well as purchase the download from iTunes or the CD from Amazon. You can even watch their video here! But guess what.....you can also enter to win the CD right now!
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

Brynn & Amie - "Made with Love" Sponsor
I am so excited about the upcoming Made with Love Giveaway event! There are lots of great bloggers taking part and you are going to have tons of wonderful opportunities to win some really amazing products! Today I want to introduce you to one of them.
Brynn & Amie Artisan Food & Gifts is a wonderful collaboration between two friends that decided to go into business together. They now spend their days in the Outer Banks of North Carolina combining their artistic and culinary skills together to create fantastic treats for us to enjoy!
I was fortunate enough to get to try two of their creations. The first, Evil Nuts, are a handmade mix of whole pecans and walnuts, with a light caramelized coating of brown sugar and spices. Crystallized ginger adds that gourmet touch. To quote Amie "This gourmet nut mix was christened "evil" by a local chef, because he couldn't stop eating them! They've been known as Evil Nuts ever since." I knew when I requested them I was taking a risk because I don't normally like anything that is spicy. But the Evil Nuts, as opposed to the Very Evil Nuts, have less of a kick. Unfortunately, they were still too hot for me. The funny thing, though, is that I shared some with my brother & his family who loved them. Even their children, Dominic who is in first grade, Aubri who is in kindergarten, and Landon who is in preschool, loved them!! I guess "Aunt Lisa" has too sensitive of a taste, lol!
The second item I got to try was their Karma Krunch Granola. Made with pure maple syrup, full of healthy fruits, nuts and seeds, and only slightly sweet, it is lighter and toastier than other commercial granolas. I absolutely love this stuff!! It's delicious! I eat it straight out of the container with a spoon. I think it sounds good on a banana too, like they recommend on the website. I've never tried commercial granola because I didn't know if I'd like it. Now, after eating Brynn & Amie's I know I won't! I can't imagine anything comparing to their Karma Krunch Granola!
Be sure to watch for the Made with Love Giveaway event coming up November 8 - 13 because Brynn & Amie will be offering a fantastic prize. You won't want to miss it!

Funtote Review and Giveaway
Who doesn't need another tote bag? I sure do! I love them! Especially because of my multiple craft projects that are going on all the time. A tote bag, especially a nice sturdy one, is an awesome way to store them! When I had the opportunity to review a tote bag from Funtote there was no way I was going to turn it down. Unfortunately, my motherly instinct kicked in and I thought that Ashley might love to pick one out instead. I thought it would be perfect for her to use at college.
She jumped at the chance, of course, and chose the Maple Tree School Tote Bookbag in charcoal and white. As luck would have it, the bag happened to arrive right before she came home for her first visit during fall break. As soon as we took it out of the package I realized I had made a mistake. I never should have let her pick one out! I should've been selfish and just kept it for myself, lol! She loves it though and has been getting lots of use out of it at school.
The bag is awesome! It's a nice size, very sturdy and the colors are so pretty. My only complaint would be that I'd like the straps to be slightly longer but that is probably because my arms are bigger. One feature I love is that there is a side zipper pocket on the outside, which would be a perfect place for your keys or cell phone, as well as three pockets inside. Very convenient!
The best news of all, and don't be silly like me and give this opportunity away, is that one of Life Full of Laughter's awesome readers is going to have the chance to choose a tote bag from the Side Zipper Collection for themselves! Awesome, right?!?

"Dancing with the One You Love" Book Review
The topic of this book is a very touchy one for a lot of women. As much as I'd rather say that it's easy for me that just isn't the truth! Now, from the title "Dancing With the One You Love"
I really enjoyed this book a lot. The author, Cindy Easley, mentions in the book that submission is something she struggles with too. I like that. I like the fact that she is honest and transparent about her marriage. It makes me believe the book. It also makes me feel as though I can make the necessary changes to do God's will in my marriage.
That is the basis of submission, really, and it is what this book brought into full color for me. Submission isn't really about your husband. It doesn't matter if he is a good husband, or if he could stand to improve in some areas, regardless you are not submitting because of him or even because he "deserves" it. Instead, we need to submit to our husbands because this is what God intended. This passage in particular really got my attention...."For whatever reason, God chose to place the husband as the head of the relationship. When we refuse to accept God’s design, we are, in essence, telling God we don’t trust Him. At times, being willing to follow our husbands is certainly difficult, yet that is what God asks of us."
I highly recommend Dancing With the One You Love: Living Out Submission in the Real World
You can also find Cindy & her friends discussing Dancing With the One You Love on her blog , her twitter account as well as her Facebook page. Not only will you get to learn from her awesome writings but you will also have a chance to interact with other women that are trying to follow God's will and submit to their husbands.
Bye,
Lisa
I received this book free from Moody Publishers as part of their Blogger Review Program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside – warm up with a Kindle Fire from Susan May Warren
Warm up to Chrismtas early this year with Susan May Warren's Baby, It's Cold Outside! To celebrate the release of her new Christmas book with Summerside Press, she and the publisher are giving away a Kindle Fire and hosting an early Christmas Party on Facebook!
About the book: Baby, It’s Cold Outside
Hope finds the hopeless when a storm hits.
It's Christmas weekend 1949, and despite the threat of a storm, the townspeople of Frost are determined to continue their holiday traditions, if only as a means to forget the war that they had all just suffered through. But the suffering hasn't ended for Dottie Morgan who lost her only son in the war. She's preparing to wallow in her isolation for the weekend, when Violet, nearly a spinster at age 29, dares to make a request that will force Dottie to publicly revive the memory of her dead son.
When a storm traps the two women at home with a strange young man who has an unbelievable confession and a neighbor with more to do with Violet's past than she would like, no one can predict how this Christmas will give them all a second chance.

Camping Is Fun
My husband and I love to go camping. It's been a fun family activity since our daughter was little. Now that she's gone off to college we've been talking about going ourselves - just the two of us. Not that it isn't fun with Ashley, because it is of course, but it'd be nice if we were able to go alone sometime. Unfortunately it just got too cold too quickly this year. We're already planning a trip in the spring though!
We have a nice tent and it gets the job done under normal circumstances, but sometimes it would be nice to have a "fancier" type tent. I recently discovered Canvas Tent Shop and am amazed at the products they offer! Their canvas tents are amazing. They look so sturdy and warm. Not only do they offer awesome tents, but they also have frames and tent stoves as well. On top of that, there is a huge amount of tent and camping information available on the website. I highly recommend visiting Canvas Tent Shop if you have any interest in camping!
Bye,
Lisa

Technology Can Be Funny!
Have you ever heard of the website "Buzz LOL"? It is so funny. Basically it catches all the funny mistakes that happen because of technology. With various forms of technology being such a staple in all of our lives it could happen to any of us! Of course, it's more fun to just laugh at other people's "boo boos" sometimes, lol!
For instance, you will find shots of hilarious Photoshop fails. Pictures where people tried to change something about themselves in a photo and it just didn't quite work. Funny! Or what about when you're texting or typing and you have a funny auto correct incidence? You'll find lots on the website. And finally, although I've never heard of this, there is a whole page dedicated to girls doing funny duckface poses. Silly!
If you need a laugh just visit the site - you'll be glad you did!

Horseback Riding?
Have any of you ever been horseback riding? I haven't but I would love to go sometime. It seems so fun and freeing to just be up on top of the horse and able to go anywhere as fast as I wanted. Of course, I'd probably be a little scared too since I've never really been equestrian riding before.
Maybe someday I'll convince Tom to take me on a vacation where we could be riding horses in wine country. Wouldn't that be romantic! I can only imagine how beautiful it would be. Of course, we'd need to visit a tack shop of some sort to get all the necessary equipment.
What an awesome trip that would be. I need to start dropping some hints and looking cute, lol!

A storm the size of Texas brews when Gloria Powell and Kai Chang meet in a Ft. Worth hotel. They have come to discuss the future of Lily, the daughter Gloria adopted from China and the sister Kai hopes to reclaim. Kai is a doctor who had to give up her little sister during the Cultural Revolution and has since discovered that an inherited genetic defect may be waiting to fatally strike Lily.
Gloria's relationship with her daughter is tattered and strained, and the arrival of Kai, despite the woman's apparent good intentions, makes Gloria fearful. Gloria longs to restore her relationship with Lily, but in the wake of this potentially devastating diagnosis, is Kai an answer to prayer--or will her arrival force Gloria to sacrifice more than she ever imagined?
