Two posts in one day - wow! I just started a new yahoo group for my Central Ohio Binky Patrol chapter. I love yahoo groups because it enables you to send an email message to one address and it gets delivered to everyone in the group. It's my hope that I will get lots of volunteers and contributors throughout the world for my chapter and an email group will make it easy to connect to each other. I'll put the sign up box down below and also on the side of my blog. Oh, and of course it is on the website too!

A call to arms!!
I am sorry I haven't been around much. I've gotten really involved with a new project and it seems to be takign all my time. I have agreed to start a new chapter of Binky Patrol here in Ohio. They are a national nonprofit organization that makes blankets of all types for children of all ages. I am so excited to announce that I will be opening the first chapter here in Ohio. It's called Central Ohio Binky Patrol.
My dream is that every child in foster care in Ohio have a binky of their own. Being a former foster parent, I realize what a difficult experience for them to be seperated from their families and homes. I feel that if they have a soft & warm binky to cuddle with it might make things a little easier. That is why I have made it our chapter's mission that every child in Central Ohio, and eventually all of Ohio, that is in foster care to receive a binky of their own.
I've been spending every free minute the last few days making a website for it. That was alot of fun - time consuming but fun. Anyway, if you go here you can check it out and tell me what you think. I would love any feedback or advice you have.
Also, if you are interested in volunteering or donating at all I would really appreciate it! Being a new chapter, we need everything as far as supplies and fabric goes. Or if you have any unfinished projects, or even finished quilts, you can send them my way and I'll make them into binkies. Any and all help is appreciated and greatly needed!!

I'm a chicken!
Well, I ended up chickening out of the quilt party last weekend. I was nervous because of not knowing anyone, although I do realize that by going I would've gotten to know people better. Plus, I am still feeling pretty unsure about my health. I plan on going to the meetings and eventually I'll be brave enough to go to a quilt party!
I got some deliveries today. One was from Susan in TX. She's a member of the Sunshine Yahoo group and offered me some of her orphan blocks. They are so great!!! I can't wait to start playing with them. She also included some pieces of fabric that look big enough for backings. Here is a picture of everything.
I also got a delivery from Clothworks Textiles. I can't believe how generous some of these fabric manufacturers have been! Again, if you're looking to purchase some fabric, think of Clothworks Textiles!! Here is a picture of the fabric, there are both kids prints and some traditional stuff too.

Quilt party!
I went to the local Newborns in Need meeting today and it was great!! The last meeting I went to was a month ago and that was the day I passed out. I have to admit that was in my mind this morning - but everything went fine. The meeting was held at the place where they have their workroom. That was nice because I was able to see the workroom and all the supplies they have too. All the women are so nice and really seem to want to welcome me into their group.
This weekend they are having a quilt party and talked me into attending. It is all day Friday, Friday night, and most of the day Saturday. We'll be staying all night and eating all our meals there. I think it's going to be fun and a great way for me to get to know everyone. This is the first time that I've ever gone to anyting like this so I'm alittle nervous! I need to get my mind straight about what all to pack too. Any advice? They have kits to work from or I can bring my own projects. Also, there are sewing machines there but not many so I'll probably take mine.
I'm just a tiny bit worried about my health and this being too much for me. I still get wore out really easily and I'm still having some dizzy spells. Even during the meeting today I got super dizzy once, but I drank some water and that seemed to help alot. I just need to make sure I drink lots of water and eat whenever I start to feel hungry. And I need to try not to get too tired. I have a plan if I'm feeling to tired. I'm going to ask some of the women to teach me to crochet (maybe even knit too since I"m not too great at that) which will give me a break and be fun at the same time.

More contributions!
I got these strings and scraps from Tammy in NC. Thanks so much and I can't wait to play with them!!
Also, I got a crib/lap sized wool batting from Maple Ridge Sheep Farm. I'm so excited about this because I've never worked with wool battings before. Thanks so much to them and remember, if you're looking to spend some money on batting check them out for wool!!!
I haven't done any charity sewing for awhile and I'm really missing it. I'm almost finished with a quilt for Newborns in Need but I need to do the binding on it. I'll get to that soon but for now I'm trying to focus on getting Ashley's curtains finished. Here is a peek at them.

Sorry it's been so long!
Gosh! I haven't written in so long. I'm sorry about that!!! Life has just gotten in the way. First off, I finally got the results from my heart monitor and blood tests. Everything came back normal. Praise the Lord!! It is looking as though I passed out from being hungry or dehydrated or something simple like that. I'm relieved! I am alittle mad at myself for stressing and worrying all this time over nothing. I need to put more trust in the Lord to protect and take care of me!
I'm going to make some curtains for my daughter's made over room. I don't think they'll be too hard but I'm alittle worried. They are going to be white with a band of light blue and green stripes towards the top. I think they'll be nice but not too heavy. I'll post pictures whenever I get them done! Here is the fabric.
Yesterday, my husband and I had the greatest day!!! We went to the Amish Country Quilt Show and it was wonderful! This was my fist quilt show and I have to admit that I want to go to lots more. This one was small in comparison to others, but it was really nice. There were about 100 quilts and I got really inspired. Here are a couple of my favorites.
The following one really blew me away. The whole background is made of hexegons that were hand sewn. Amazing!!!
Of course, there were lots of vendors there as well. I got lots and lots of great stuff!!! I love being spoiled - lol!! I got the "Supreme Slider" that is supposed to help eliminate the drag while I'm quilting. And I got the "Quilt Halo" to grip my quilt as I'm quilting it. Also, I got a bundle of felted wool that I want to make pincushions out of. And finally, I got a great new bag pattern called the "Two Hour Tulip Bag". It has four different sizes to make and I can't wait to try them out!
