Knitting or crocheting?

Since I've started Central Ohio Binky Patrol I have been feeling like I want to do more than just quilting.  Now, don't get me wrong....quilting will always be my first love!!  But I just think it'll be fun to have a handwork type project going as well.  I have been trying to decide which to tackle - knitting or crocheting?  I know how to knit although I'm not real confident in my abilities, but I don't know how to crochet at all.  I really want to learn how to crochet, but I'm thinking maybe I should just stick with knitting for now.  I bought some really soft and pretty yellow yarn yesterday and I'm itching to get something started.  First, I'm going to make a few dishcloths to get used to knitting again.  They are quick and easy, plus very useful.  So, the plan is to work on those for awhile then move on to the blanket.  Any ideas for easy baby blanket patterns?  Oh, and I still want to learn how to crochet!  So, any great links or books for learning to crochet?  And now I'm going to have to work on building a stash of knitting needles, crochet hooks, and yarn.....lots and lots of yarn!!!!!

Bye,
