A commitment to read

I used to love to read.  Really, I still do love it but I just don't make time for it.  That is going to change starting today!  I started reading "The Help" today.  I'm only about two chapters in so far but I can tell that I'm going to love it.  Have any of you read it yet?  Or seen the movie?  I want to get the book read first - I've always said that the book is always better than the movie.  Because of that I'll probably end up waiting until the movie comes out on DVD.  But I am committing right now to reading some every single day!  Even if it is only 15 minutes eventually I'll get really hooked on the book and won't want to put it down!

I've also just joined Good Reads.  Have you heard of it?  It's basically a social outlet type website for readers.  You can add books you've read, you're currently reading, and you want to read in the future.  There are places to write reviews, as well as read reviews that others have written.  I think it'll be a lot of fun to what others think of books I've read, plus it is going to be a great way to find even more books I want to read.  I've had a reputation of having a "to read" list that is a mile long!  I can't help it....there are so many great books out there!  If you are a member of Good Reads and want to become friends come look for me.  I'd love it!  My profile is HERE!

Bye,

I've not read The Help yet, but my mom said it's fantastic. I have added it to my reading list (which is also a mile long). I love to read, but it's been harder since my son was born. I'm getting back into it though and it's great! And I love Goodreads! It's a lot of fun to rate and review the books and see what others have reviewed. But my favorite part is that a lot of authors are on Goodreads and actually respond to readers, post great blogs, and review books they've read. It's so fun to see what my favorites are reading!

New follower from the FNF hop returning your visit. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Lisa. Cute blog! I read The Help and it was wonderful. I haven't seen the movie yet but will probably go this week. I know, I always worry the movie will "ruin" my memory of the book. But I have heard wonderful things about the movie and it's been a long tine since I read the book. I am on Goodreads too. I'll look you up!

I also love to read, but lately I read too many blogs and not enough books! I really, really want to read The Help, though. I've heard so many good things about it. I may download it to my Kindle :)

I can't wait to read The Help and start the movie, I love to read and do it almost daily. I usually spend 90% of my winter reading. During the summer there is so much going on that I only get in about 10% of reading.
The Help is suppose to be really good, I hope you enjoy getting back into reading.

I am 1/2 way through The Help. It's a great book. At first, it was hard to read the way that Aibileen speaks, but I'm used to it now. I am so glad my friend chose this for our book club. I think everyone should read this book. I'm now following you back from http://www.mama-press.com.
