Finally sewing.....

I actually sewed today!  It feels like it's been forever since I sat at my sewing machine.  I miss it!  This blog was actually the push I needed to get me back to it.  I have some awesome fabric and quilt pattern reviews/giveaways coming up.  The packages have been arriving and I've been getting excited thinking about all the possibilities!

Keep an eye out for my first post about what I was working on tonight.  It has to do with a jelly roll!  Well, I thought it was a jelly roll but I was wrong.  I was attempting to make the Jelly Roll 1,600 quilt.  Have you heard of this?  It's such a great idea and a wonderful way to use up a jelly roll.  I've never owned a jelly roll but one of my awesome sponsors - who you'll meet probably tomorrow - sent me one and I was dying to make this quilt.

I got all ready, untied the cute little bundle and realized that there were only 24 strips instead of the necessary 40.  I really didn't want to add more fabrics from my stash since I was showcasing these fabrics for a review. So I decided why not just make it with 24 strips?  I followed the pattern and thought I'd end up with a baby sized quilt.

I don't know what I did wrong but it turned out very long and very skinny - nothing like my by the way, lol!  So, my creative juices started flowing and I really had a great time.  It was fun to just wing it and see what I could create.  I'm almost finished so hopefully I'll get a post and pictures up tomorrow.  I"m just praying it turns out the way I'm expecting!

Bye,
Lisa
