The time has come, I've put if off for much longer than I even hate to admit, I am ashamed to say this has always been a struggle of mine, but it is now time.......I have got to find a plan/schedule/routine that will get my house in order!! I have been blessed to be a stay at home wife and mom for the last 20 years of my life. It's been awesome but there has always been something hanging over my head. My lack of housecleaning/organization skills. Bottom line, I stink at it!
I've finally gotten fed up, and to be honest my husband has too. Our daughter is away at college, I don't have a job and I have a lot of free time. It isn't too much for him to want to come home to a clean, organized, peaceful home. I can't blame him for that. If I worked hard all day, paid all the bills, and supported my family, I would want to come home to a clean, calm, peaceful environment.
So, how do I make this huge change? Where do I start? I'll be honest, and I'm ashamed to say this as an almost 40 year old woman, but I am overwhelmed! I feel like the job is too big. How do I conquer all the mess? The dog hair from my 100 pound black lab? The craft supplies that are taking over the front room? Everything? Where, oh where, do I start?
Tonight I'm going to looking into Fly Lady much closer. I also just joined the Yahoo Group called Fly_Pals that some of my friends belong to. I think there is another Fly Lady based Yahoo Group that some of my quilting friends belong to so I'm going to search for it. I have heard such wonderful things about Fly Lady so I'm hoping it'll work for me!
I need to make a plan. I need to schedule the time. I need a routine. But most of all I just need to DO IT!! I need to roll up my sleeves and get to work! Wish me luck!
Bye,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
You may find some of my cleaning tips helpful on my blog. They are under the label of CLEANING and ORGANIZATION.

Good luck. It is such a constant thing to keep up with housework.
Good Luck Lisa I just turned 50 (don't tell anyone) and I have never had a handle on housework. There are so many other much more fun things to do! Even when I do buckle down it doesn't stay clean for more than a couple weeks. When you find the secret to making it work please share.
You may want to try A Bowl Full of Lemons, Toni go es through tackling clutter, cleaning, and organizing one drawer at a time. Really simple and it feels so good. Good Luck, getting started is the hardest part.
I know how you feel, I have been a SAHM for 17 years, I am 38 years old. I started out a very cluttery housewife, and I improved over the years, and it did help when I joined fly lady. I am a lot better at it these days, but I still have a way to go in developing consistent routines, and staying caught up. Good luck with your goal :) ~April
