Crafting ADD?

Do any of you suffer from "Crafting ADD"?  Never heard of it?  Well, that is probably because I just coined the phrase today, lol!  I think I suffer from this disease and I don't know how to fix it.  I guess as Dr. Phil says "You can't fix what you don't acknowledge" so the first step is admitting I have a problem.

Back when I was only a quilter I struggled with starting too many projects.  I would easily start a quilt, wallhanging, tote bag, and fabric bowl all within the span of a few weeks!  Now that I've also become addicted to knitting and crocheting the problem has tripled in volume!

The thing is that there are so many fantastic patterns and ideas out there that I want to try everyone, then you take into account all the awesome projects I've completed but want to repeat, and you can easily see why this is such a problem in my life!  I'm sure I'm not the only crafter with this condition, am I?

I think part of my difficulty is that I am also so tempted by all my awesome supplies that I am blessed to have on hand.  Everywhere I look there is some fabric or yarn just screaming out for me to start a new project.  Of course, all those projects that seemed so great a few months ago now seem boring or outdated.  It's in my plans to start devoting time to all those UFO's that are hiding throughout my house.  Be watching for those posts because I'd love for you to join me in the travel!

But for now I am going to give in to the "Crafting ADD" just one more time.  Pathetic, right?  But this is for a good reason.....honest!  I promise I won't do it again after this time......honest! You don't really believe me, do you?

So.....are you dying to know what my newest project is going to be?  Well, you may remember me writing about my Granny Stripe afghan that I made about a year ago.  You can read all about it and see some pictures on my Ravelry page. It's finished now but I never got a picture taken, terrible I know!  Here is a picture of it about half done though...

I absolutely love this afghan!  It's warm and cozy & the colors are awesome!!  We have it on our bed and I have to tell you, it makes me happy every time I see it.  So, I decided that I needed one for the living room too.  Why not, right?

I have the perfect yarn for it.  I'm going to use lots of different vibrant colors of Brown Sheep's Lamb's Pride yarn. The colors are just beautiful and the yarn seems very easy to work with.  The only downside is that it is not machine washable.  They make a "superwash" type as well but that isn't what I have on hand.  It'll be alright though!

For the one on my bed I started with 300 chains.  It is a monster though!  I don't think I want one quite that big for the living room.  I'm thinking more like 150 - 200 chains.  Still big & cozy but not out of control, lol.  I'm going to be using Attic24's Granny Stripe pattern.  It's fun, easy and perfect for working on while watching television.  I'm hoping to start soon so be watching for my posts!

Bye,
Lisa

COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND!! I am in the same boat these days.. too many UFOs calling my name - however the new "want to try" projects are calling even louder! And it never helps when the local craft store puts on a too good to miss sale.. then I am totally done for! :)
